Hey there~
I know it's been asked before but the last topic I saw was from 2016 so it's kinda old already and I don't know if something changed either on minion or OBS 
The settings I have is game capture, it doesn't matter if I load OBS, FFXIV or Minion first, it always shows the overlay.

Is still possible to stream/record without the overlay appearing? If it is, how can it be done?

make a shortcut to toggle the GUI in the shortcut manager.

Yes, I know I can hide the UI with a shortcut, I have that one already.. but it's that the only way to do it? since in some fights you have to turn on/off some stuff on the ACR controls to manage CDs or something.
Is shortcuts the only way for it to not show?

Are you by chance using Win 10? , or 7 or 8? o: ... it may have to do something with the win version?

I suppose it could be. I'm using Win 7 and the overlay shows... Would need to see if someone else with win7 see it or not :7

I am having this same issue after the last minion patch, didn't happen before, I'm using windows 10, also using Nvidia graphics card.

Windows 10 1803, Nvidia. Minion show up on one but not the other

Edit: Fixed with recent updates

This is fixed for me now. After last minion patch it doesn't happen anymore
