Umm the 100% meshes are included for convenience. If they are not perfect then it would be their choice to fix them. The reposinsibility falls on the person using the bot, hence the reason they gave us ALL the tools we need to create the meshes ourselves.
imo that was the case when the bot first released. Now they have a laundry list of fixes to implement and features planned for god knows how far out. However having a meshed world to include witht he bot should be somewhere on that list.
I actually asked in the beta thread why the city meshes werent just packaged w/ the bot itself since they are required to use the quest module (for the most part). havent checked the reply yet but erring on the side of logic - id expect a reponse along the lines of "some day"
the dev's supply the tools the community creates the custom stuff. These meshes that come with the bot are community memeber made by latty he submits them to be updated with the bot as he fixes things. duty profiles are submited by me mostly also a community memeber. skill profils same thing... its like telling the bot devs this addon i got from ace is out of date please update it.
The city meshes are not REQUIRED for the quest module, you could always just avoid making profiles that include quests in the cities. ORRR you could well, make your own city meshes? What a concept right?!?!
yea cause i bet thats EXACTLY what the devs were thinking when they made the bot/questing modules. some people would use it without doing the quests in the cities...
give me a break. No need for blindly jumping jocks bud. If you want to be a mod, just ask.
Anyhow, since 90% of the quests which you have to do to advance and unlock central portions of the game start and/or end in the city... i would argue that YES they are ALL but required.
Final pro tip, some... id even argue MOST people that invest in bots.. do so because they cant or are unwiling to write software on their own and the more user friendly the better.
Lets not forget, people PAY to use this as well.
Trust me, i do NOT want to be a mod. Jackie has that well under control, and I do not envy him in the least bit considering what he has to deal with. I do however take pride in the fact that i took the few hours it takes to learn how to use the tools to be self sufficient with the bot, and gee wouldn't you know, I didn't have to write a single piece of software on my own.
As for your final "pro" tip. Who in the world made you a "pro" while I wasn't looking? Did I really and truly miss it? Damn I really wanted to be here for that? /facepalm

Yes and no. I mean in the context your referring to, you are correct.
However, a meshed world isnt and shouldnt be "custom stuff". At this point in the bots development, it can be overlooked as i think i mentioned. They have to pick and choose and the list is around the block.
However any fully featured high end bot which charges a high end price and wants to be competitive in said market.. having a meshed world is almost not even up for debate.
With that said, I would also be willing to bet that some point in the future - this will in fact be the case. Its practically a given.
However, as i also mentioned... since they were pointing people TO those meshes (/wink r1pt1de) in their beta thread, they are thereby endorsing them and (/wink r1pt1de) acknowledging they are required for much of what people are going to do w/ said new modules. At this point id imagine theyre fully fleshed out and could just be included with the bot.
Some people like to just download a bot and go... tough sell in that case. I dont mind fiddling, actually prefer it TO AN EXTENT. But I also look to the future and like any consumer compare to what else is available. I doubt anyone can argue that the more complete and polished it is on download, the more premiere it will be/seem.
Fully realize you cant expect them to update others mods and thats not what im arguing at all. Just hope we can expect a meshed world in the future. Especially considering the stuff you guys put forth, id imagine they could just go over it to make sure it meets their criteria/quality standards and slip it in. In fact I think they did do that with a few modules and profiles/meshes even. Just not the city ones (which is what this began over i think)
Anyhow.... :P

and i figured it would be lost on you. No biggie. (have NO clue what any of that had to do w/ learning to use the bot. This bot CANT be used without learning it. To a much greater extent than any other ive used in the past in fact)
Anyhow - lets not litter the Mesh thread with petty crap. Save jackie a bit of work imo!
im not gonna get to indepth with this BUT EVERY BOT EVERY SINGLE BOT i know of you have to create your own, waypoints or profile for the zone or farm or what ever you want to do . No bot do i know comes with nav files completed.
honorbuddy :P
i take that back. depends what your talking about. I was talking about meshes.. WHich several bots i know of come with completely meshed worlds.
As far as specific tasks. Yes you are correct.. many bots come with some... but having them all would be an impossiblity. With that said, some have very very many (practically all) available in their community, but is due to the community themsleves.
So I guess it depends on what you were referring to. Meshes as i was? then you have used all bots that i have not apparently.
Irrelvent though /shrug
Don't forget that most bots don't use a mesh, layered over the ingame one, like this one does. Most just move on the game-mesh, using a path, therefor don't need a mesh, but also don't have it's flexibility...
