Important points:
Transferrable Current World Destination World
○ Non-Legacy World → Legacy World
○ Legacy World → Legacy World
× Legacy World → Non-Legacy World
Furthermore, characters can only transfer 1 million gil, while retainers can only transfer 100 thousand gil. Please be aware that excess gil will be lost.
* Depending on economic conditions, the amount of gil that may be transferred with a character may be subject to change.

yeah lol, when it was free we could carry 3m main char 1m each retainer (5m total) now just 1m what a joke!
