Sometimes the bot turns around and runs away for a second before turning back onto its path.
In this case: running to a FATE in Coerthas Central Highlands, lv 38 job, +2/-8 level range on grind

12:21:26> D = "had a path to fate [Giant Seps]"
12:21:26> D = "had a path to fate [The Grey]"
12:21:26> D = "had a path to fate [A Log Up]"

[turns, runs opposite direction for a sec]

It happens sometimes with mob targets too - tho slightly differently: Target is chosen, bot runs away for a sec, then runs towards the mob.
very very occasionally, if there's a few possible targets in different directions but seemingly similar distances, it'll re-target at the end of the run-away-bit, then run away from that target, then re-target, and go back to the first, and then repeat until one of them moves far enough to break the loop. (Not exactly something reliably able to replicate, and standing in the 'middle' and stopping-starting the bot seems to make it pick one and stick to it - that first one after starting the bot doesn't suffer from the small run-away).
Hopefully the top bit at least is useful to figure it out.
