Not sure why it didn't work for you, but perhaps try some of the following:
1) verify that you put the files in \MINIONAPP\Bots\FFXIVMinion\LuaMods\ffxivminion\SkillManagerProfiles
2) reload the lua
3) reboot pc
also, make sure you set the task to "Crafting".
For me "Skill Profile" shows the various skill profiles I dropped in there.
