Only tested this with SHB

Wondering if I am doing something wrong. I have everything set up. Hit the run and it flies out to the mob and targets it. If it lands just on the outskirts it loops between mounting and unmounting continuously. If I move it closer or if it lands close enough on its own, it just targets the mob and stares at it. The mob then begins to beat me to death while I and my chocobo just look at it.

is there an option I may have set incorrectly?

which mob? Which zone? 

Does this happen for just one mob or on all hunts? For instance on the bot, hit the level hunt button and mark the specific mob as done, it should then go to the next hunt. does it do this for this other hunt as well? 

Can you provide a screenshot of what your console is saying?

Under Character Configuration -> Control Settings > Target 
do you have 'enable auto-target when no target is specified' enabled?
