    I had experienced same problem til i read a post about using the ctrl button during making mesh.. it will allow you to get up next to nodes in areas where the auto mesh doesnt reach( hills, bushes etc) and when i was making my mesh of the area and pressed the CTRL button sure enough fixed my prob.. hope that helps
