Actually, this problem happens when you hit the CTRL key by itself. (Works like CAPS LOCK)
When you hit any of the hotkeys (s,b, etc.) it thinks you're using the CTRL commands.
The fix is to just hit your CTRL key again and everything will revert.
I think this is a bug if it is not an intended feature, and if it is an intended feature, it should be removed because it is annoying and causes various things to happen while you type and accidentally hit the CTRL button.
