So I've been leveling mining with XIVMinion and I'm at 45. This is my first char and I've come to realize I don't know a lot about actual mining at all.

Does anyone know of a good guide to follow for gear and what are unspoiled nodes?

a quick google search would give ya that.

unspoiled nodes spawn at specific times during the Eorzean day. They give some of the mats needed for ilvl55 gear.
